The History of Distinctive Home Interiors
Jennifer
Reynolds-Garcia, of Richmond, VA, designs homes from conception to
completion, and everything in between. She is best known for assisting
clients in pushing their great ideas even further than they imagined.
She is a Certified Interior Designer, and has been a member of the
Interior Design Society since 2008. Jennifer began her career working
for RIST Corporation in Washington, DC in their textiles department.
Jennifer graduated in 2003 from Marymount University in Arlington, VA
with a B.A. in Interior Design. Post graduation, she was hired as a
lighting designer with Dominion Electric Supply, but still had a desire
to do full service interior design. In June 2003, she was hired as
assistant to the principal at the small but prestigious firm of
Bartolomei & Company in Washington, DC’s Georgetown neighborhood.
Jennifer worked in tandem with Ms. Lisa Bartolomei to style beautiful
residences in Washington, DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia, and East
Hampton, New York. A bonus of working with Ms. Bartolomei’s firm, was
also working with Room Doctors, a separate firm within the firm, that
specializes in using a client’s existing décor, but refining it.
Jennifer’s return to Richmond came on the heels of a life-change—a new
addition to her family. Jennifer longed for a return to her roots, and
the dream of having a family business was realized. In the spring of
2006, Jennifer joined forces with her father, Larry Reynolds, of Larry
Reynolds Painting renown, to form Distinctive Home Interiors. As a
creative team, they are able to provide a laundry list of services that
best suit their clients’ needs. Jennifer specializes in full-service
interior design, interior refining, organization, color consultation,
and antiques scouting and sales.
